Sponsor terms

How buying a sponsor slot works: price, approval, what we accept, renewals and refunds.

  1. 01The slots

    There are 6 fixed slots, three in each side rail on desktop, also shown on phones and tablets and in the sponsor tape. Each slot holds one sponsor at a time; nothing rotates. Unsold slots show our own cards.

  2. 02Price and the founding rate

    • A run is 30 days for $100 (founding rate; list price $150), or 90 days paid up front at the same monthly rate.
    • The founding rate stays yours for as long as you renew without a gap. New list prices apply only to new sponsors.
    • Prices are in US dollars. VAT or other taxes are added where the law requires.

  3. 03Approval comes before payment

    • You send a request with your card. A person reviews it, usually within one working day.
    • If it is approved, you receive a payment link by email. Your run starts when the card goes live, not when you pay.
    • If it is declined, you pay nothing. We don't have to give a reason, but we usually do.
    • You may also pay right away when you send the request; a card we decline is then refunded in full the same day.

  4. 04What we don't accept

    Misleading claims, adult content, gambling, crypto token sales, weapons, anything unlawful, and products that don't work or don't exist yet. We may remove a live card that turns out to break these rules; you then get a pro-rata refund for the unused days.

  5. 05Independence

    Sponsoring never changes a verdict, a ranking, a prompt or the list of alternatives, yours or a competitor's. Cards are labelled as ads and link with rel="sponsored".

  6. 06Changes, renewals and refunds

    • You can change your card during a run; changes are reviewed again.
    • Nothing renews automatically. We email you before the end with a link to extend.
    • A run that has started is not refundable, except as described above or where the law says otherwise.
