Privacy
What this site stores about you, why, for how long, and how to get it deleted. Short version: very little, and no tracking cookies.
01Who is responsible
canivibecodethis.com is an independent project run by Max Miskow, a private individual in Poland, so the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies. Max Miskow is the data controller for everything below. Contact for anything privacy-related: hello@maxmiskow.com.
02What we store
- Votes. When you press "I replaced this", we store which app you voted for and a one-way hash of your IP address and browser name, salted with a secret. The hash only lets us count one vote per visitor; we cannot turn it back into your IP address.
- What you send us. App submissions (app name, website, price, note and, if you give it, your email), sponsor requests (email, chosen slot and plan, the card you designed) and the slot waitlist (email). Each comes with the same visitor hash, to stop spam.
- Server logs. Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, page, browser) for security and debugging.
- Your browser. The site keeps which apps you voted for in your own browser (localStorage). It never leaves your device.
03What we don't do
- No advertising or tracking cookies, no cross-site tracking, no selling or sharing of data.
- Sponsors never receive data about visitors. Their cards are plain links; we don't pass anything about you to them.
- No newsletter: an email you leave is used only for the thing you left it for.
04Why we may (legal basis)
- Votes, spam protection and logs: our legitimate interest in running a fair, secure site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Submissions, sponsor requests and the waitlist: to do what you asked us to do (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
05How long we keep it
- Vote hashes: as long as the vote counts are shown.
- Submissions and waitlist emails: until we have answered, then at most 12 months.
- Sponsor requests: for the length of the sponsorship, then as long as accounting law requires for invoices.
- Server logs: up to 30 days.
06Who processes it for us
The site runs on a virtual server rented from Hostinger in the EU. When paid sponsorships start, payments will go through Stripe, which then receives the payment details you give it directly. No other service receives visitor data.
07Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to processing, or take it elsewhere: write to hello@maxmiskow.com. We answer within 30 days. You can also complain to the Polish data protection authority (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych, uodo.gov.pl).
