On the plan most people start with, Leadpages sells pages on your own domain, a form that captures leads, a blog and an AI editor that drafts pages. An agent can build the same for yourself in one sitting: static pages from templates you edit, a form endpoint that stores leads and emails you, and a deploy to a small server. What you give up is a visual editor for teammates who don't write code, and the Grow and Optimize testing layer, which is a second project.
Before you buildLeadpages has no free plan, only a 7-day trial with a card, so there is no cheaper tier to try first.
Build me a personal landing-page publisher to replace Leadpages. Requirements: - Node.js 22 + TypeScript: Astro with static output for the pages and a small Fastify server for the forms. `npm run build` writes ./dist; `npm start` serves it plus POST /lead on http://localhost:4880. - Pages: Markdown files in ./pages with front matter (title, slug, description, og_image, form on or off, thanks_url), rendered through three Tailwind CSS templates I can edit: hero with form, long sales page, and lead-magnet download. - Forms: one form component posting to /lead; validate with zod, include a honeypot field and a per-IP rate limit (`@fastify/rate-limit`), and show a consent line set per page. - Storage: better-sqlite3 in ./data/leads.db (page, fields as JSON, utm fields, referrer, created_at). Each lead is emailed to me through nodemailer SMTP from .env and, if WEBHOOK_URL is set, posted there as JSON. - Lead magnet: after submitting, the visitor gets an email with a signed download link, valid for 24 hours, served from ./downloads. - Admin at /admin behind one password in .env: leads with search by page, CSV export and a delete button for erasure requests, plus a per-page view count from a first-party counter that sets no cookies. - On build, generate sitemap.xml, robots.txt, canonical URLs and Open Graph tags. Ship a Caddyfile for a VPS with automatic HTTPS and an `npm run deploy` that rsyncs ./dist over SSH. - No accounts, no telemetry. - Out of scope: a visual editor, A/B testing, heatmaps, popups, a blog and payments. - README: pointing a domain at the server, SPF and DKIM for the mail the form sends, and the GDPR duties of whoever collects emails.
Opens your agent with the prompt filled in, you press enter. Or copy it and paste it into an empty folder.
The first prompt builds the core. Run these one at a time in the same folder to grow it into your own Leadpages.
Add A/B testing to the landing-page publisher in this folder. Requirements: - A page can have a front-matter list of variants (files page.b.md, page.c.md) with split weights; the server picks one on the first visit and keeps it in a first-party cookie for 90 days. - Count visitors per variant (skipping bots) and conversions when the form is submitted, in SQLite, and show both on an /admin/tests page with the rate for each variant. - Declare a winner only after 100 visitors per variant and 7 days, using a two-proportion z-test at 95%; otherwise show "keep running". - Update the README, including a cookie-notice sentence.
Add mailing-list sync to the landing-page publisher in this folder. Requirements: - A provider interface with two implementations chosen per page in front matter: Mailchimp (audience id, double opt-in) and a generic JSON webhook, with keys in .env. - Send the lead after saving it; on failure keep it in an outbox table and retry with exponential backoff up to 6 times. - Only send when the consent checkbox was ticked, and store the consent text and timestamp with the lead. - An admin view of the outbox with a retry button. Update the README.
Add a blog to the landing-page publisher in this folder. Requirements: - Markdown posts in ./posts with front matter (title, date, tags, description, draft), built into /blog/<slug> with an index page, tag pages and 10 posts per page. - Generate an RSS feed at /blog/rss.xml, add posts to sitemap.xml, and add Article structured data to each post. - Skip draft posts in production builds and print a warning for posts without a description. - Reuse the existing templates and Tailwind styles. Update the README.
Add Cloudflare Turnstile to the forms in the landing-page publisher in this folder. Requirements: - Render the Turnstile widget in the form component when TURNSTILE_SITE_KEY is set, and verify the token server-side against Cloudflare's siteverify endpoint with TURNSTILE_SECRET_KEY from .env before saving a lead. - If the key isn't set, keep the honeypot and rate limit only, and log a startup warning. - Count rejected submissions per day and show the number on the leads page. - Update the README with how to create the keys.
Small businesses buy it to get a page live today without a developer: pick a template, drag things around, connect a domain and send leads to a mailing list. At $29 a month, a tool nobody has to maintain is cheaper than a weekend of someone's time for anyone who doesn't already work with code.
Estimate · Runs on a $5 VPS, or the static part on a free host plus a tiny form endpoint; SMTP at lead volumes fits free tiers. The build is token usage on your agent plan.
